I guess what I mean by that, is that if you have medical problems that need attention, don't delay in getting it fixed. What if the market changes, and suddenly you can no longer afford the procedure you need done? Or what if you can see a doctor or specialist anymore? (At least not in the traditional sense.) What if that meant standing in line for 6 hours to see a doc, and then have a scheduled procedure on "their" timetable, a year down the line.

I lived with a bad knee for probably 10 years after a skiing accident. 6 years ago, I had a specialist tell me I had severely torn the meniscus of my knee, and although I could live with it for now, I'd eventually need surgery. Last year, I finally had enough of the "dealing" with it, and just got it fixed.

My knee is better than new. With my old knee, if I had to do any sort of running, or even intense hiking, I would have had severe pain and lots of problems. My bum knee would have held me back in an emergency. Now I can run and use it without pain or lock-ups, pops, and problems.

Just something we can all think about. After the procedure was done, and I was healed, (about 6-8 weeks) I kicked myself for not doing it before. Modern medicine can do wonders, but we need to take advantage of it while it's available.

I'm planning on going for a consult to see if I would be a good canidate for laser eye surgery after the holidays. I hate glasses anyway. Thinking of it as shtf preparation will maybe motivate me to go ahead and take the plunge.

Yep. Good advice. I've got a birthday coming up and this is the year I take a general medical assessment. I haven't been to a dentist in years... or a doctor... or an eye-guy...

I also haven't been sick in a very long time. Better safe than sorry. Right?
