The mother and the two new kids are doing fine so far.
Heidi won't let me bring them inside the house despite the freezing weather at night! laugh.gif

About thanksgiving they should be ready.

Thanksgiving? But I'm hungry NOW!

Animal offspring is always delicious. Lamb, veal, suckling pig, seal pups...

Kid must taste similar to lamb, right?

I'll tell Heidi. Those names may just stick!

I was thinking Huey and Dewey if they were male.
At least one is a female, so my names won't work. We usually don't name things till they are old enough to start showing personality traits.

How do you parents manage it? Don't you need names for the birth certificates?
What would happen if you refused to name them till they were say, five years old?

Geo
Why name it if they're going to be eaten? Heck, if they're gonna be ready by November, name on "Thanksgiving" and the other "Christmas." wink.gif

I always wanted a couple of sheep and name them Cashmere and Cableknit.

Can't just call them "Hey you" all the time.
They do become part of the family, and some learn to come when you call them.

Then we eat them. biggrin.gif

Well, we did name them! Pirate and Corsair!

Why would you want to eat them now? There is hardly any meat on them. Why not wait until they can feed you for a few months at least.

Bob is always tring to eat the bunnys at two months old. If he just waits untill they are five or six months old you get twice the meat off of them and I don't have to spend as much time in the kitchen trying to pick the meat off of those tiny bones.

At this stage in their life, the baby goats are smaller that the rabbits! I vote that we wait a few months at least.

HE JUST HATES THIS, YOU CAN TELL...RIGHT?
