I really am torn about this property.

The location is great. Its one a hour drive from income sources. The price is pretty good too. Not "chicken farm nextdoor" good. But ok.

It has a double wide on it. Probably trashed. It also has two locations where trailers/mobile homes were once hooked up.

There is what seems to be some type of housing developement to the east. Looks like mobiles on 2-5 acre tracts. From this I have a feeling that a shooting on the property is going to be hard.

School district is not award winning by any means. Not sure if that would matter, as whether we homeschool or not is in question. Being closer to income sources increases

Have you considered the possibility of renting out the mobile home sites? Could mean extra income in your pocket.

I see lots of opportunity in buying a bunch of repo'ed trailers and setting them up on the property.

My hang up is I never wanted to own a trailer park biggrin.gif. Please do not get me wrong... some of the mobile homes out there are really pretty nice. Because they are low cost, they can give people housing opportunities will not alot of money. I see that as freedom... if they buckle down and buy their own land and home.

I tend to think if I go down the road of buying trailers with the express purpose to rent out, the title of slum lord is not too far off.

The development to the east is too close for me. Still, I will drive out there to check it out. But its too close to other people for me. I do not mind neighbors, but I do mind alot of neighbors.

My gut tells me that shooting on that property for example is just going to bring out the busy-bodies.

The problem with mobile homes in rural areas is drug use/production.

I come from a small town and have seen it over and over. Even the mobile home parks within city limits have constant drug/domestic abuse problems.

I have found it to be too much trouble to deal with, and would not consider it.
